Dreaming a New Way into the New Story Retreat
Explore the origins of our universe to better understand your own journey
Linda Neil, CSJ

In this weekend retreat at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha), explore the New Story and its possibilities to birth a new vision and new energy in your journey with Earth. The New Story, the Cosmic Story, is the story that Earth tells about her beginnings. It is the story of evolution and all the mystery and beauty that story holds. Experience the universe and some of the powers throbbing through her. Then you will be challenged to reconnect with the universe as central to your way of being and behaving as a human and invited to moments of transformation in your relationship with Earth. This retreat weaves the art of Marion Honors, CSJ, as well as music, poetry, story and dance into an experience of living in a Cosmic and an Earth-centered way.

Facilitator Linda Neil, CSJ, a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet, facilitates eco-spiritual retreats, offering a series of presentations entitled “Encountering Earth: Reclaiming the Human in the Web of Life,” designed to help participants become more mindful of being members of the Earth community. Linda is a hiker and naturalist. She holds master’s degrees in religious studies from St. Charles Boromeo and from the Earth Literacy Program at St. Mary of the Woods College in Indiana.

The cost of this weekend retreat is $230 and includes sessions, lodging and all meals. The commuter fee is $180 and includes sessions, Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch. A non-refundable deposit of $25 is required at registration. (Full payment is required to register online. If you prefer to pay the $25 registration fee now and the balance when you arrive, please call 319-395-6700.) If you want to stay in a Hermitage, you also will need to register by phone.
