Food, Faith, Climate: Connecting the Dots
Learn how your food practices contribute to climate change and how faith traditions call you to respond
Sarah Webb

Climate change is related to our food choices. When we sit down to dinner, we may not think about global warming, but one-third of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions are connected to our food system! At every meal, we can make a real difference that ensures a more climate-friendly food system. And luckily, the ethical choices are also pleasurable ones that improve the health of the planet and our bodies!

This workshop at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) is facilitated by Sarah Webb of Iowa Interfaith Power & Light. She will guide you to look at food practices in your own household, how food choices contribute to climate change and what various faith traditions say about sustainable food systems. You will create a personal plan for more climate-friendly food choices. This workshop includes a tour of the Prairiewoods garden, helpful tips, resources and pocket guides for more climate-friendly choices, a climate-friendly snack and the chance to network with like-minded individuals.

The cost is $25 and includes all materials. For more information or to register, contact Iowa Interfaith Power & Light at (Registration is not being accepted through Prairiewoods.)
